LA PAZ – Three Bolivian policemen were arrested when they were discovered to have forced teenagers to undress and have sex at a park in La Paz in order to make videos to be shown on the Internet, the press reported.
The three officers, ordered to be locked up last Saturday by Judge Carlos Guerrero, were part of the detail assigned to Bosquecillo in Pura Pura park. They carried out the illegal acts on their days off, but in uniform.
Videos of teenaged boys and girls were made with cell phones and the sequences published on the Internet, according to prosecutor Virginia Crespo, who accused the officers of robbery, procuring and abuse of power.
Crespo said that a total of between six and seven officers are accused of using the videos for extortion.
The videos discovered, some of which had already been seen on television, show the police forcing the young people to undress and have sex under the threat of being arrested.
The case was discovered when one of the girls involved identified the police who had blackmailed her the week before. EFE
