
La Paz, Apr 26 (Prensa Latina) The coverage of electricity in the Bolivian rural area will increase from 33 to 53 percent for 2015, reports the national press on Monday.
A report presented by the Viceministry of Electricity and Alternative Energy states that this increase represents the incorporation of 210,000 houses to the national network.
In the case of urban zones, the plan intends to increase the coverage of the existing 87 percent to 97 in the same period.
It adds that the coverage will reach 87 percent by 2020 and the total access to electricity in Bolivia is expected to be accomplished by 2025.
Projects with different technological alternatives are carried out in rural and suburban areas as part of the Electricity to live with dignity program.
A power of 952.73 Kw/h is expected to be generated by 2010 and 495.93 of it will come from photovoltaic systems and 456.8 from hydroelectric micro power stations.
