Bolivia Secures Resources vs Poverty

Beni, Bolivia, Aug 27 (Prensa Latina) Bolivian President Evo Morales said on Thursday that the country has all necessary resources to invest in the country”s development, mainly to fight poverty and include neglected, destitute sectors of the population.

He made his remarks during a mass gathering in Trinidad city, the capital of Beni department, where he gave green light to a decree allowing the provision of free birth certificates and identity cards to those who benefit from the “Juana Azurduy” mother-and-child bond.

The new measure will initially benefit 60,000 mothers who are currently unable to receive economic aid because they and their children lack official documents.

This paperwork in a short time will demand a capital expenditure worth $500,000.

Morales said that thanks to hydrocarbon nationalization in 2006 the country has resources to be allocated to social sectors that had nothing before.
