Opposition Authorities to Trial in Bolivia

La Paz, Aug 29 (Prensa Latina) Santa Cruz opposition prefect Ruben Costas, and businessman Branko Marinkovic, will be probed by the Public Ministry for the case of the terrorist cell neutralized in April, official sources reported Saturday.

According to Attorney Marcelo Soza, Costa and the former Santa Cruz civic committee president were linked to the so-called Supreme Court. This entity financed the band led by Bolivian Croatian Eduardo Rozsa Flores, killed during a police operation.

Soza stated that the legal entity will also analyze links with extremists of German Antelo, a presidential candidate for the conservative Revolutionary Nationalist Movement, among other authorities.

The judge showed, among Rozsa Flores’ documents, an e-mail he maintained with mercenary Ivan Pistovack, to whom he commented about the structure of the Supreme Court and its goals.

Hungarian-Croatian Magyarosi Arpad, and Irish Michael Martin Dwyer, were also killed in the April 16 police operation. Also detained were Mario Tadic, a Bolivian with Croatian passport, and Hungarian Elod Toaso.

Juan Carlos Gueder and Paraguayan Alcides Mendoza, both members of the Santa Cruz Youth Union, an autonomy movement opposing President Evo Morales’ government in that eastern region, were also detained some days later.
