Helicopter Crash Kills 2 Air Force Officers in Bolivia

LA PAZ – Two officers were killed when their helicopter crashed while flying from the southern Bolivian city of Sucre to the southwestern province of Potosi, the air force said Sunday.

The accident occurred Saturday in Chalviri, a town south of Potosi city, while the helicopter was on a routine mission.

The last report from the crew said they were about 16 kilometers (about 10 miles) from Sucre and their next report would be radioed to the base in Potosi, the air force said.

The air force’s accident unit will “conduct the required investigation, whose result will be released when ready,” the air force said.
