Terrorist Group Intent on Dividing Bolivia

La Paz, Nov 17 (Prensa Latina) The Bolivian Parliament fact finding commission probing into the case of a terrorist cell neutralized in April confirmed that the group was trying to divide the country through violent actions against the people.

According to Chair of the commission, Deputy Cesar Navarro, the extremists sought social reactions from certain sectors of eastern Santa Cruz department opposed to the government. These sectors in return were seeking to promote their defense plan.

“In our opinion, these plans had the objective to break the country down territorially,” said Navarro as he summarized conclusions of the report drafted by the commission he chairs in the lower chamber.

The document requests the Justice Ministry to make due arrangements before the Foreign Ministry and INTERPOL to extradite those involved with the armed group, who managed to escape during investigations.

According to Navarro, from the ruling Movement towards Socialism, the Santa Cruz revolt was funded by individuals and groups who wanted to separate this territory from the rest of Bolivia.
