Evo in Cuba to Attend ALBA Summit

Havana, Dec 12 (Prensa Latina) Bolivian President Evo Morales will arrive here Saturday to attend the 8th Summit of Heads of States of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America (ALBA).

  The two-day meeting that will start on Sunday expects, among other issues, to fix a common position of this regional entity on climate change for the forthcoming Copenhagen Summit in Denmark.

The ALBA heads of States will also approve a resolution rejecting the Honduras de facto government position of not giving back the constitutional command of that Central American country to President Manuel Zelaya.

For the Bolivian leader the meeting in Havana will be historical since the bloc will arrive to its five years giving evidence of a real integration.

In declarations to Prensa Latina the statesman put forward that the new accords and conclusions will be consulted with the social organizations of ALBA country members, an initiative to be presented by his delegation.

Morales will take advantage of his visit to the Caribbean island to meet with Bolivian youngsters studying in this country.

Founded by Venezuela and Cuba in 2004 ALBA also includes Bolivia, Ecuador, Nicaragua, Honduras, Dominica, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines and Antigua and Barbuda.

After ALBA summit finished the Bolivian Head of State will travel to Copenhagen, Denmark to attend the UN Conference on Climate Change where his delegation is carrying important proposals in favor of the Earth.
