La Paz, Feb 22 (Prensa Latina) Bolivian senators have assured they are in favor of a hypothetical contract with GasAtacama Chilean Company to industrialize the country’s natural gas provided it is favorable to Bolivia.

Legislators Isaac Avalos and German Antelo told La Razon daily that those rapprochements with any company must not be rejected and the Legislative Assembly will supervise those agreements.

We absolutely agree if business associates want to invest in Bolivia to make it progress, stated Avalos, assembly member who represents Movement towards Socialism (MAS).

Avalos stressed on the fact that it is important to have business partners and not bosses, even though he clarified that nothing can happen if it is not previously consulted at the corresponding levels.

On the other hand, Antelo, member of the opposing Progress Plan for Bolivia-National Convergence (PPB-CN), ratified that there was no deal with GasAtacama, but said he is in favour of assessing the possibility.

Chilean La Tercera and El Mercurio dailies reported last Friday that GasAtacama is negotiating with the government of President Evo Morales the execution of industrialization projects of Bolivian gas.

Morales did not rule out any kind of offer but added that there are other proposals from Latin America, Asia and Europe.
