La Paz, Mar 9 (Prensa Latina) Bolivian President Evo Morales will leave for Chile tomorrow at the head of a flight with assistance to help earthquake victims in Chile, confirmed today the deputy minister of Civil Defense Hernan Tuco.

In statements to Prensa Latina, Tuco said the president will fly in a Bolivian Air Force with a load of 40 tons of powdered and condensed milk.

He added that the departure is planned for the morning, and should mark the beginning of Morales’ visit to the Chilean nation, to participate in the inauguration of the new Head of State Sebastian Piñera.

In this regard, Bolivian Foreign Minister David Choquehuanca said the president will attend the presidential inauguration ceremony on Thursday 11 and he will return to Bolivia next Thursday.

Choquehuanca added that as there is no meeting agenda, Morales is likely to hold bilateral meetings with some presidents attending the event.

Up to now, Bolivia has been one of the countries that has sent more assistance to the neighboring nation. Since last week it delivered to Chile 120 tons of water and organized a telethon to raise money.

The success of the TV show was such that it collected over a million dollars and had to be postponed one more week, in response to demands from the Bolivian population, eager to add more contributions to Chile and Haiti.
