Over 1,000 Journalists Expected to Cover Bolivia”s Climate Summit

La Paz, Mar 12 (Prensa Latina) Bolivia expects attendance of about 1,000 journalists, both national and foreigners, to cover the Summit of Climate Change and Rights of Mother Earth scheduled for April 20-22 in Cochabamba.

The head of the National Direction of Social Communication (DINACOM), Johnny Delgado informed that details are being coordinated to install a large press center in Tiquipaya, 12 kilometers from Cochabamba in the center of Bolivia.

We will determine in Tiquipaya the exact place to set up the International Press Center organized by DINACOM together with the National Company of Telecommunications, Delgado said.

The official explained that the facility will have at least 300 computers, dozens of telephone lines and a transcription center to make available for reporters all the speeches made by the authorities.

Delgado added that a Wi-Fi network will be installed to complement Internet services and help the work of about a thousand national and international journalists.

This Cochabamba meeting intends to promote concrete actions to protect the environment in the face of the failure of the World Summit held in December in Copenhagen, Denmark.
