Uruguay President Begins Bolivia Visit

Cochabamba, Bolivia, Mar 12 (Prensa Latina) New Uruguayan President Jose Mujica arrives in Bolivia Friday for an official visit, when he plans to sign some agreements with his Bolivian peer, Evo Morales.

  Mujica is expected to arrive at 20:00 hours local time, and his first official activities in that city will begin on Saturday, when he will deal with bilateral affairs and probable deals with Morales.

He plans to visit the Cochabamba provinces of Aiquile, Mizque, and Punata, and the two presidents will later give a press conference to announce scopes of the meeting and the agreements reached.

The Uruguayan delegation is made up by the ministers for foreign affairs, national defense, and livestock, agriculture and fishing, the ambassador to Bolivia, and the president of Uruguay’s Technologic Lab.

Bolivia’s possible way out to the sea through Uruguay, the old Uruguay-Paraguay-Bolivia (Urupabol) treaty, and the purchase of Bolivian gas are among the main issues in the agenda.
