Peru, Bolivia to Collaborate in Legal Matters

Sucre, Bolivia, Mar 15 (Prensa Latina) Peru and Bolivia are trying to establish institutional agreements for cooperation, improvement and exchange of experiences in solving legal cases, a diplomatic source reported in this city on Monday.

Peruvian Ambassador to Bolivia Manuel Rodriguez met with Bolivian Supreme Court of Justice Chairman Julio Ortiz with that objective.

There is a possibility to establish institutional agreements in solving problems in both countries, regarding justice administration, Rodriguez said.

In this respect, he said the cooperation agreements will allow solving the cases shelved, due to justice delay, the Bolivian News Agency (ABI) reported.

Rodriguez reported that the Peruvian Supreme Court of Justice chairman is expected to visit Sucre before the Bolivian authorities visit Peru.

Both governments held differences, due to the Peruvian refusal to extradite three ex ministers of Sanchez de Lozada’s administration (2002-2003), involved in crimes against humanity.
