Nobel to Bolivian Morales, Says Perez Esquivel

La Paz, Mar 16 (Prensa Latina) Bolivian President Evo Morales deserves a Nobel Peace Prize for his contribution to forging unity and peace, Nobel Peace Prize laureate (1980) Adolfo Perez Esquivel said on Tuesday.

In remarks to Bolivian Patria Nueva radio station, the Argentinian intellectual defended his decision to nominate Morales’ candidacy to the prize for a second time in less than three years.

Because of his contribution to respect and coexistence among nations, and the development and transformation of the peoples, not only in Bolivia, but in Latin America and worldwide, he said.

In a communiqué, the Perez Esquivel-led Servicio Paz y Justicia (Peace and Justice Service) human rights group extols the Bolivian president for his permanent willingness to solve conflicts peacefully.

We hope the Committee (of the Nobel Prize) will consider the Bolivian president’s candidacy for the good of all because of what his work represents for humankind, said Perez Esquivel.
