OEA to Send 50 Observers to Bolivia

La Paz, Mar 24 (Prensa Latina) Around 50 people in a mission of the Organization of American States (OAS) will be acting as observers in the upcoming regional election in Bolivia, official sources reported on Wednesday.

  OAS delegation leader Aristides Royo reported that the observers would begin to arrive on Friday and would be trained next week, and was confident that the process would be transparent.

We hope all requirements for elections are met, and that they are as clean and transparent as they were lat year, said the also ex president of Panama.

National Electoral Court (CNE) Chairman Antonio Costas said the presence of the regional entity is a guarantee to carry out normally the electoral process on April 4.

The observers’ objective is to verify the electoral process before, during and after the vote in the nine departments of the country.
