Bolivian MAS Closes Election Campaign

La Paz, Mar 31 (Prensa Latina) The ruling Movement Towards Socialism (MAS) is closing on Wednesday its election campaign in Bolivia for the forthcoming regional and municipal election on April 4.

  President Evo Morales, leader of the MAS, and Vice President Alvaro Garcia will participate in the final event in Ceja locality, El Alto city.

MAS spokesman Jorge Silva disclosed that 100,000 are expected to attend this mass meeting.

Morales has reiterated in the most recent closing campaign events that this ruling party is the only one that really represents the change that began in 2006 under his leadership.

President of the Chamber of Deputies Hector Arce stated that the elections are vital to consolidate the current transformations when he referred to the last Sunday’s poll.

Arce told Prensa Latina that the elections are essential to complement this process at all levels and the renovation of the State.

On April 4, Bolivians will elect nine governors, 144 departmental assembly members, 1,887 city councilors, 23 indigenous local authorities and provincial deputy governors and mayors.
