Bolivia Negotiates European Economic Aid

La Paz, May 7 (Prensa Latina) Bolivian ministry of Rural and Land Development informed that negotiations are in progress this year to broaden European cooperation for a value of 10 million euros to boost agricultural development and farming communities.

  According to a ministerial report, the aid will be managed through the Program of Food Security Aid and contributes to security and food sovereignty in the country.

The purpose of this collaboration whose operative execution ends December 31 2010 is to help actions to reduce poverty and hunger by this institutions operatives.

The institution directs programs such as Planting and Raising that has the support of the European Commission of Food Security in Bolivia.

This commission began its activities in this nation in 1997 to contribute to improve availability and access to food in the most vulnerable communities of the rural sector.

Specifically it has contributed through investments directed to improve road accessibility, irrigation, agricultural production and training.
