Indigenous Bolivians Ready Mother Earth Bill

Oruro, Bolivia, May 12 (Prensa Latina) The Bolivian National Council of Ayllus and Markas of Qullasuyo (CONAMAQ) is giving the final touches on Wednesday in this capital to the New Mother Earth Bill.

  The regulation will provide integral development to the sustainable, respectful and fair management of natural resources, in accordance with the State’s Political Constitution in force since February 2009. According to the organizing committee, indigenous authorities, are participating in the forum, in six working tables.

Environmental management, social control, climate change and migration, as well as renewable and non-renewable natural resources, are among the issues to be debated.

Aspects related to the National System of Protected Areas, as well as creation of environmental education, infraction, crimes and criminal procedure will be also analyzed.

The meeting is sponsored by the Bolivian Alliance of the Civil Society for Sustainable Development, and the Earth Foundation, among other institutions.
