Bolivia Could Expel USAID

La Paz, Jun 27 (Prensa Latina) The Bolivian government warned it could expel the US Agency for International Development (USAID) if that body keeps interfering internal affairs, it was reported Sunday.

Vice President Alvaro Garcia told the Confederation of Bolivian Peasant Workers (CSUTCB), the proofs collected could be enough reason to expel that agency.

However, Garcia reiterated, he hopes the entity changes its stance and stops trying to enter social organizations.

“We hope for a change of stance, we are patient, tolerant. We expect they can understand the signals of our government, which are respectful signals, though they do not respect us,” he said.

Yet, the Evo Morales administration will take drastic measures if the situation is maintained, Garcia stressed.

USAID must stop interfering our life, our democracy, our ideology, the vice president pointed out.

No only the opposition wants to harm the president, but there are also foreign interests to hinder the social development and process of deep structural reforms taking place in the country, he remarked.
