Bolivia Reaffirms Aspiration for Own Satellite

La Paz, Aug 26 (Prensa Latina) Bolivian President Evo Morales reasserted the aspiration of installing a satellite in at least three years, to facilitate communications and detection of natural resources.

The statement was made at a ceremony for social works in de Caquiaviri, La Paz, and that the technology will be named as Tupac Katari, in the memory of the old Bolivian indigenous leaders struggle against the Spanish colonialism.

The project will require an investment close to the 300 million dollars. A letter was written to the International Telecommunication Union for Bolivia to have a space orbit to locate its own satellite.
